Two caves in Didima
Didima village (Didima means “twins”), is a small village 20 minutes away from Ermioni. It is mostly known for its “two caves” which are more of huge craters. The smallest crater which you meet first is the most interesting one with the two tiny churches of Byzantine origin, built into the red crater wall. One is St Agios Georgios from the 1200s and the other is the newer Metamorphosis.
You will enter the crater through a narrow, tunnel, through a hole in the ground, with stairs leading to the crater’s interior. You can park your car under the pine trees and next to the smallest crater, which is 80 meters in diameter and 30 meters deep. [Many thanks to John Haanity for the drone video].
