Nafplio

Nafplio, one of Greece’s most beautiful towns, is the first capital of modern Greece. Only one hour driving distance from Ermioni, the town of Nafplio has spectacular views and is full of historical monuments, such as Akronafplia, Palamidi, the Bourtzi fortresses. The old town of Nafplio combines neoclassical architecture, narrow streets and Venetian balconies.

When planning your visit to Nafplio from Ermioni, remember that Epidavros Ancient Theater is on your way and must also be visited and just 15 minutes after Nafplio is the Mycenae archeological site. All in the same direction but it would be a very long day if all three sites are to be seen. Visiting twice and combining an alternative coastline return route would be our suggestion!
